Mutantverse AU

Name: Ari Nói
Age: 16
DOB: 6/17/1997
Reykjavik, Iceland
Ability: Zoolingualism & Animal Empathy
How it works ( fake science ver. )

Humans are pretty straight forward with communication, relying heavily on voice and tone. Animals use various methods, from vocalizations to scent to body movements. This information is "coded" and Ari can pick up on it and simultaneously "decode" it in his head. Being human, his default is to obviously set to 'people talk' and thus he normally communicates on that spectrum. He can't understand animals by default, he has to mentally 'link' with them to communicate. While some animals are capable of understanding basic human speech already, in animal talk mode, Ari can have a full conversation. However, not all animals are part of the same 'spectrum' and some are easier to understand than others. Animals in regular contact with humans are on the easiest tier, such as housepets, farm stock, and zoo animals.
Ari's secondary ability, empathy, is a byproduct of being able to pick up on the animal 'code,' as emotions can also be used as a means of communication. Herd animals give of a stronger feel to them than individuals, for better or for worse. Despite this being the weaker or less prominent power of the two, it's almost always 'on' although it functions at a low level. Ari won't be able to immediately pick up and define feelings of animals unless he's trying to, but he can get sort of vague notions. A word of caution: Don't let Ari in an animal hospital.

This is Toti. He's seven years old.
